        Hello and Welcome!
You can easily make your own projects to use as kitty toys (fill with catnip) or ornaments. You can sew them by hand or machine. I use felt, it is a fabric that is inexpensive and easy to work with. Make a shape on a piece of paper, this will be your pattern. You can trace a cookie cutter or even make a circle by tracing a cup onto the paper. I like to make smiley faces from a circle, but you could make a Christmas ornament design from it too. I use embroidery floss to do the sewing by hand with an embroidery needle. For an ornament cut 2 of the shape from felt then separate the 2 pieces and sew the smiley face or squiggly designs, whatever you have decided. after you complete what you want on there, put the 2 pieces of felt back together with the design facing out. take some more embroidery floss, any color you like and stitch around the edges, leave an opening to put in catnip or fiber fill if you want. Fill then finish stitching it closed. Knot the end well of it is a cat toy.
I do it similar to this tutorial but use the felt because it does not fray and you do not have to turn it right side out, you sew it all on the outside.

        another toy

The idea with these is the same as making an ornament, just without the catnip and without a sewing machine.

        different stitches to use
You can make flowers, bunnies, birds, basic shapes. sometimes you can give them as gifts if you want Smile
I hope some of this is helpful to you! Happy sewing!
