woodlore, Is there any way that you can post a picture of the area on the jacket where the tear is located? Is it the leather that has the tear or the lining? You may have an option or two to repair it depending on where the tear is. If it is in or near the seamline, you stand a better chance of repairing it. If it is elsewhere, it is almost impossible to repair it without it being noticeable. You may want to consult a local shoe repair shop to see if they have any suggestions. Usually the "old guys" that have been in the business for years and years have the know-how and the equipment to repair, dye and polish any area that has to be fixed. I have sewn on leather and suede in the past and it isn't an easy task for someone that doesn't have a leather machine or tools. Especially if it is a heavier weight leather or a calf or lambskin. Good Luck...hope this helps. ToolQueen

You might try going to an auto parts store to see what is available for repairing leather seats. I think a patch from behind would be best.
This will not be invisible for sure. Monica

Is there anyone in your area that does upholstery work, not necessarily on cars, but upholstery work for furniture? They might have enough knowledge and experience to help. ToolQueen
