Help with Picking Neutral Color for Entire Home Sign In/Join
        posted
I am getting my home ready to sell. I am not sure what color is the best color to paint my whole house. I was told in order for the house to sell quickly, I have to use a neutral color throughout the entire home. Any ideas on the best neutral color to use? By the way, should I use the same color in the bathroom and kitchen also?

OK, you are skewing the 'rule' just a little bit.

While you can paint the entire home in just one neutral color, you do not have to use the SAME neutral color in every room. The important thing is to stay with neutrals in every room, stay away from anything that's too wild or off-the-wall.

For picking neutrals, get something that compliments the floor or trim colors. Also check with the paint store for most popular neutrals. Linen white is popular, if you want to tint things towards a light yellowish hue. A muted grey or tan will also work. In some homes, a pure, stark white really makes thing pop and look bright and clean.

Pick your neutral(s) in a color that has decent coverage - here too, just ask the paint people. For example, stay away from a popular white color called Atrium White as it has terrible coverage. For prepping up a house to sell, you really want something that can cover in one coat.
