My living room has a floor to ceiling brick fireplace, and the room faces north so I dont get strong sunlight. All the lower trim in the house is a dark wood, and the furniture is dark brown leather. Im trying to figure out what color to paint besides white to put more life in the room. I like the dark browns but with the red fireplace what colors can I go for the walls.... any suggestions welcome.
It's a web site run by a magazine called "Canadian House & Home, and there's one section in there called DIY Home Repair, but no one ever posts a question there, except to ask how to paint over wallpaper or how to change a light switch.
But, in the Decorating & Design forum, there's just no end of women wanting to "design". And, their idea of "designing" is deciding what colour furniture goes well with what colour carpet and what colour carpet goes well with what colour of wall paint and on and on and on.
That's where you wanna be to ask your question. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Nestor,

Without actually seeing your room it's hard to guess, but any of the light colors in the top row would probably be a good contrast in shade while complementing the tones you have.
Hope that helps.
