Do the electric water softeners such as the Eddy Electronic Descaler really work?
mixed. low flow, light mineral content water, maybe. in contrast, a halide water softener is a sure bet. if you have "liquid rock," very high mineral content, you are going to need multiple stages of anything.
sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?
saw a 1 1/2" copper line completly plugged up with calcium, they had electronic descaler installed
they also had hard water. thats my opinion
I really do not trust the electronic "descalers" and have a hard time seeing their advantages. The tried and true technology works just fine and needs minimal maintenance in the grand scope of things (compare adding salt every so often to replacing pipes/dishwasher/hot water heater much earlier than you expected!).
