Allowable horizontal run to vent/drain
Greetings all,

I suppose I could find this in the code if I looked long enough, but hopefully this is simple enough. I am moving a pair of sinks horizontally along a wall 2 to 3 feet from the existing drain/vents. I want to Tee into the existing drain/vent and install a horizontal run to the new stub-out. How far can I run horizontally from the drain/vent to the new stub-out?

There is no true horizontal drain run - all need to have at least 1/4" per foot pitch.

At that pitch, you can run any distance but your vent tie-in needs to be within 5' of the sink.

Frodo
5' on a 2" drain horizontial line
3' on a 1 1/2" drain line
what are you tieing into? is it a waste stack? that has no other drains on it? or is it a line with other lines tied into it?
