Nothing but water was used. There was no specific amount of tp squares mentioned, at least to my recollection. I know I never used any specific amount only what seemed to work, enough to feel secure and just fit into my dragonfly mold that I used at the time. I may have used more than five sheets but less than nine. Just remember to gently press as much water out as possible. When it dried it was very easy to paint with acrylic pain...I did add a coat of acrylic sealer after I was finished. I do not think that if you added a drop of white glue that it would hurt! Experiment! It is very easy to do doesn't really take much thought. One more thought I would not crumple the tp but try to get into mold as smoothly as possible, I am just thinking if it were uneven you might have a corner or line in the middle of piece that may cause problem. Anyway, agan experiment tp is pretty cheap considering and practice does make perfect! Hope this helps!

I'm embarrassed to admit that I happen to know that you're supposed to start with "8 squares of toilet tissue", according to written instructions I have. What I never figured out was whether that meant 8 double layered squares, or 4 of the double layers, so I used 6 double layers as a compromise!
Good luck with your project! Kathryn

There is something similar to this on Michael Strongs website, using 1 ply of toilet tissue and embossing powder. You stamp the tissue, emboss, and then put into a bowl of water until the tissue dissolves. It looks absolutely beautiful, but you have to use a stamp that isn't too delicate! I can't think of the website off the top of my head, just google Michael Strong!
