I have a room size jute rug in my living room and a sisal in my bedroom. Both have some stains and I don't know how to clean them without fading the rug. Tried Resolve on the jute and it left a light spot. Does anybody know of a good product for this?
DON"T do a steam- company or regular shampoo-ing of the carpt....You MUST do something called HOST-cleaning method. google it. I had a Jute rug and had to clean it this way. They put thousands of mini- dotted wet sponges all over it and the sponges(Sand-grain small) over it and press it into the carpet..then vacuuum it all up. Must send it to do a HOST-cleaning method. NO OTHER WAY! g-luck!

That's exactly what I was going to say. Since it cannot get "wet" HOST is the one and only product that I know of that will not hurt it. Also, do not use any pre-spotters or stain removers first as it will stain the fibers.
A similar product came with my Dyson vaccum. It was grains of pretreated sponge that you work into the rug, let sit, and then vaccum up. It worked, but it had to sit for quite awhile (until it was dry). You might be able to find this product at a store that sells Dysons or home depot.
