We just bought a home and the bathtub is stained with dirt and grime. I've tried using Comet, clorox bleach cleaning spray, and a couple of different types of sponges. Nothing seems to be getting rid of the stains. Any suggestions? I saw Nicole Curtis use some type of large white sponge on Rehab Addict to clean a tub and it worked like a charm. Anyone know what she used? Thanks a bunch! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Delish,

I just played a local Minneapolis podcast last night, and have your answer.
Nicole is a devotee of the (non-scratching) scouring powder "Bar Keepers Friend." it contains oxalic acid, which is the toxic ingredient in rhubarb leaves, to cut rust and so forth. so rinse twice, and keep the pets out.
the white sponge is probably a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or 3M's equivalent. it is said the basic material is made by BASF in Germany in large sheets. This message has been edited. Last edited by: swschrad,
