Help! What can I use to remove soap scum from a glass shower door? I've tried the usual grocery store products and nothing works. I don't want to use any products or tool that will scratch the glass. Thanks!
you might give Comet Bathroom cleaner a try; read about the stuff and heard it was great and tried it this morning. It has no bleach in it and smells fairly good. Spray it on, wait about 10 min and wipe down. Very inexpensive and might do the trick.
I don't have hard water, but a colleague of mine that has a store in hard water area told me of a product called GRIP. She said it smells pretty good and cleans shower doors in a zip.
Lots of Lime - Zep Lime scale remover with Bar Keeper's Friend
Mixture - oven cleaner
Equipment to try:
razor blades, white pads, metal scrungees (the small ones, not the large), SOS soap pads, electric sanders, & window scrapers
Other things to keep in mind. If the glass is clear, you must work slowly and carefully. Frosted & patterned glass can take a lot more boisterous cleaning. Once you get it clean, protect it so you never have to do it again! Use Rain X, Gel Gloss, lemon oil, or...

I had a similar problem with glass shower doors and also needed a new hangar for one of the doors. So, I called the manufacturer for the part and while I had them on the line I asked what they recommended for deposits on the glass.
Believe it or not, but they recommended spraying them down with good old "WD-40". let it soak in and wipe them down. Of course you need to use a good glass cleaner to get the oily residue off, but it really worked for my badly stained doors.
I agree with Sidekick56, switch to body washes. Bar soap leaves a scum that if you don't stay on top of, it becomes a problem. Body washes/liquid soap doesn't leave it behind. Plus, I think that body washes are better for your skin. I use one that has shea butter in it & my skin is always smooth/soft (even if I don't have time to put on lotion). Also, I use a daily shower cleaner. I use the cheapest one ($1 @ The Dollar Tree & Big Lots). It keeps my shower clean. I clean it good about once a month (could probably get away with cleaning it once every 2 or months). Have a groovy day!
