Wink We have a leather sofa and two matching leather chairs. They are 30 years old but are still in great condition except for the stains. What is the best way to remove the stain (various types) and clean the leather without damaging it?
Thank you in advance for all the responses.

This is what I have always used for 14 years on our cream colored leather, and it was recommended by the local leather furniture store. Still looks like new. I do have to clean the hassock more often.

I use a container of warm water and just a few drops of mild dish soap, and another container of just warm water. I dip a microfiber towel into the sudsy one, wring out nearly dry and start wiping a portion of the couch, like a seat cushion area or back/side, whatever. Keep turning the towel as I work, then switch to another clean towel with just the water, wring and rewipe, again turning the towel, especially if I see any soil residue. Finally use a dry towel on the area that just got washed, and move onto a new adjacent area with new cloths. I just rotate the cloths as needed, the rinse ones go to washing and the drying one goes to rinse. Usually use half a dozen or so depending on the soil. If you have not cleaned them in a good while, don't keep trying to use the soiled ones to clean new areas with, or you are likely to just dilute/smear it around.
I like the microfiber towels (from the automotive dept at Sam's Club or Walmart), but clean cotton cloths and old towels would probably work fine too.

Saddle soap works well to clean a leather sofa. You can go to places like Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware or any of your local feed and farm stores to pick any up.

After I clean our sofa, I use Corbins Saddle Cream to protect it. It is a product you can find at your local motorcycle shop.
