        Need name of closing mechanism for door

        OK - I need a handle for a door to a pantry. I understand there are several different ways for the door to shut and stay shut. I know what they look like, but not what they're called. The one I want is with a single exterior lever that doesn't necessarily move. Instead, the door closes using a little ball on the side of the door that slips into a small indentation in the door frame. What's that called? Thanks!

        It's called a ball catch latch and can be found at any home store. Like these:

        The ball catch will hold the door closed, you will still need some form of knob to open it. The knob can be a handle, any form of cabinet knob or a 'dummy knob' which looks like a doorknob but is installed as a non-functional surface mount.

        It's most often installed at the top of the door not the side.
