I have cinder block basement walls and have been in the house for close to 10 years. Before I moved in there was a leak in one corner of the basement. I was told it had been fixed (waterproofed) and really haven't seen anything to tell me otherwise. But my question is the cinder block in general around the basement is crumbling, more so in that corner but as well in other places. What is the best way to fix the wall? My wife and I want to paint for the time being and maybe drywall later. Should we scrape as much as we can and then use some sort of sealer and basement paint? Should we fill in any areas with cement or not necessary since we're eventually looking to drywall? Thank you for the help.
