Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had ever used Furring Strips as the crown or trim? Not just for backing but actually painted it and used it? I am thinking of doing it because I like the look but did know if that was normal to do?

If you like the look there is no reason why you can't use something other than a shaped crown as a crown. I've used 1x stock as crown in more rustic houses. Basically if you like the look then do it.
