The pocket door on our 40+ yr old home appears to be off it's hinge....won't open/close without force and door is hanging at an angle..maybe off the track? Without completely opening the door frame or walls, how can we put it back on the track...if that may be the problem?? We have used a flashlight to try to look inside the doorframe.
If the door is hanging at an angle, then one of the rollers is broken, off it's track or just slipped loose. You will have to remove the door to inspect and repair this.
Take a look at the door jamb. On the side where the door disappears, there will be two trim strips running from floor to the top of the door jamb - one on each side of the door. These are usually about 1" x 1" in size. If you remove one of them, then when you close the door all the way you can tip it out through the doorway and remove it. From there it's then a matter of finding all the pieces of the roller assembly to figure out why it's not working. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jaybee,
