Been using this site as a reference for a while, now I have a question that I can't find an answer to. Your help is greatly appreciated!

The top layer of plaster on an interior wall was loose so I scraped it away. Unfortunately I can't seem to upload a pic, but it is about 1/16 -1/8 inch thick and revealed what I believe is the scratch layer underneath. It's a relatively large area, roughly 3ft across and about 1ft high. Can I repair it with DAP patching plaster?

        Thanks in advance!
