My husband and I are replacing windows on our house. We have one window that is plumb and level, but the hole to put the trim on the outside in wider at the top than the bottom. Should we cut the siding evenly and install a trim piece that is the same width and use calk to fill it in, or should we cut a trim piece to match the opening, wider at one end? The width varies by at least 1/2" I'll try to get a picture later today.
Molly44, I'd really like to see a picture. If you've already done the work, a before and after would be nice. I'm trying to visualize your situation. Wondering if the space for the trim gradually narrows from top to bottom or if there is one wide slot at the top. I'm curious, because I do see trim where the head piece extends 1/2" or more beyond the side trim.
