New building under construction and the windows are double hung but each side jamb has a slice through it. The contractor and he stated they all came like that. I attached a picture that I found online that is similar. Now the cut in our window is a cleaner cut but regardless, is this normal for a new window? I've never seen this before, nor has my husband & he's hung windows many times. ThanksThis message has been edited. Last edited by: dtoes, ![]()

I've never seen that either. Why not just make a quick call to the window manufacturer. Jaybee

I thought all the ultrasonic welds were made at corners. regardless, those are defectives and should be replaced under warranty. sig: if this is a new economy, how come they still want my old-fashioned money?

New one on me to and I've installed thousands of windows and dozens of differant brands. Looks like a nice place for air and water leaks. joecaption
