        you've got a lot of bulkheads and stuff there already, as well as the staircase we barely see and oddball angles.

        particularly when it looks like there was already a wall there that had been removed, it would be a little silly to put one back up.

        how big is that space from where you're shooting? a little voice in the back of my head is saying it's barely big enough to set the drums up in. and that would be not nearly enough for a studio. for one thing, sound booths for the drummer in any stage or studio setup are larger. and for another, the door would have to swing into the room because of that staircase. code says you can't block an egress with a door, and that staircase is an egress.

        I'd offhand suggest soundproofing the garage instead of carving up that basement any more.
